Powergen India 2017

Power sector is one of the most important factor of infrastructure crucial for the economic growth and welfare of nations in India. The existence and development of adequate infrastructure is essential and depending on the power sector for sustained growth of the Indian economy.
In India, Coal-based Power plants are mainly used to produce energy. Since the shortage of water in some part of the area, to cool water, air cooled dry coolers which consume less amount of water are started to be used instead of cooling tower. In addition to this, solar energy and wind energy are secondary used of producing electricity. In 2017, the Government of India plans to start as many as 10,000 solar, wind and biomass power projects in next five years, with an average capacity of 50 kilowatt per project, thereby adding 500 megawatt to the total installed capacity referring to the announcement at ibef.org.
So, hopefully, in the near future, the energy sector in India has strong growth developing market since India ranks third among 40 countries in EY’s Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index, on back of strong focus by the government on promoting renewable energy and implementation of projects in a time bound manner quoted by ibef.org.
